Scratch: Cookie Monster Game
In the beginning of the year, we were being introduced to programming and coding. To achieve this we learned on scratch. Scratch uses something called block coding. These blocks are pre-written blocks are segments that have set definitions and do specific things. As a group we were tasked with writing a game from these blocks. Our group decided to make a platformer much like Mario. We programmed the game through the block coding, we made collectibles to be "picked up". How we managed that is when the sprite (which is what represents the character appear on the screen) passed over the item then it would hide. Also we made scrolling images which represented the backdrop of the level. The character was programmed with blocks, which moved the sprite left right and vertically our (jump) function. After collecting a set amount of cookies you would win the game, or after collecting vegetables then you would loose the game. All of these functions were achieved through the blocks of code.
